1. Turn of the TV so it’s easier for you to see any dirt, dust, grime and you will not interfere with any pixels. Use a microfiber cloth – it will not leave any lint on the surface. You should buy a microfiber cloth if you don’t have one, as any other materials may scratch the screen. Clean the hard frame of the TV, pressing a little harder.
2. Make a solution of equal parts of vinegar and water – that would be a natural detergent for safe and cheap use. Apply it on the microfiber cloth and wipe off any dust left. Don’t spray the solution directly on the screen as it may cause permanent damage. Use a second microfiber cloth to wipe the screen dry. Don’t allow the liquid to dry on its own as it will leave marks. Do the same with the plastic frame, putting a little more pressure.
3. It’s really unfortunate to see that you have a scratch on you TV. If that’s the case, the first thing you should do is check your warranty and see if it covers it. If not, the safest way is to use a scratch repair kit which is available for purchase where TVs are sold. Another method is to coat a cotton ball in petroleum jelly and dab it over the scratch. There’s one more way to remove a scratch – buy clear lacquer and spray a tiny bit directly on the scratch. Then leave it to dry. Your flat screen TV will be as good as new.
