The iron is one of the most important household objects, isn’t it? It is so annoying when it has dirt on the soleplate or sputters over fabrics instead of gliding smoothly. This tip is going to be very short as the method is amazingly easy. We are posting it because we know how ugly it is to see brown and black spots on the iron’s soleplate.
You need a short list of things:
-
Cleaning towel
-
Salt
-
Dirty iron!
Prepare the ironing board (or the place you iron) by placing a towel (try to use cotton towels) on it. Use an old one because it will absorb all the dirt coming from you iron. Put some salt on the surface of the towel – a tablespoon should be enough. Plug in the iron, put it on maximum heat and turn off the steam setting. Iron the towel by pressing gently. The dirt will stick to the salt and your iron will be sparkling clean. You should go through the “salted towel” as long as it is enough remove any stains left.
Now you see how easy it can be to clean your iron without being a professional cleaner.
