How to clean your fridge?
It is a spring Cleaning time!
This cleaning method is going to be for this place of the kitchen where things supposed to stay fresh – the fridge. There are a few steps for this. Everyone knows that this is not an easy task and it takes plenty of time. This cleaning method is really effective and you can do it without cleaning lady.
First step – It is really important to have a space, so the first thing you need to do is to take out everything of the fridge.
Second step - This is the time when you have to throw out any aged and rotten food… and do not hesitate, because this is probably something that it has been sitting a long time in the back of the fridge with expire date.
Third step – Take out the shelves from the refrigerator – it is going to be easier when you start cleaning it (and also more effective).
Fourth step – Before cleaning your fridge, you can wash the shelves (do not put them in a dishwasher), instead take a sponge to scrub with.
Important:
When you take out the shelves, leave them on a room temperature and then use only cold water when you wash them. If you use hot water, the glass can shatter from the sudden temperature change.
You can use ammonia for heavy stains.
Finally, leave the shelves to dry out completely before returning them into fridge again.
Fifth step – Start cleaning the inside of your fridge – use a non-chemical cleaning solution (if you use chemical, the food will absorb the smell after that). We can use one of these natural solutions:
-
2 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 quart hot water
-
1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts hot water
-
For heavy stains – use small quantity of white toothpaste.
Sixth step – When you are sure that all areas in the fridge are clean – put the dry shelves into it and then return the food (without the items with an expiration dates).
Seventh step – This is the final step. Keep you fridge clean and organized (you can use containers with different sizes). Try to keep it tidy and smelling good (homemade fresheners) and if you clean it regularly you can save time in the future.
