How to Whiten your Yellowed Pillows

Most of the times all of us buy white pillows with beautiful colorful cases. The pillows should be washed twice a year and when you remove the case and the pillow has gone yellowish its annoying, isn’t it? Most commonly, this is due to the sweat the human body provides in order to keep it at a comfortable temperature during sleep. Another reason for this change are the cases which leave their color (dirt as well) on the pillow.

Here is a Miracle Laundry Whitening Solution! Perfect tip for domestic cleaning. What you need is hot (HOT!) water, a cup of laundry detergent, a cup of powder dishwasher detergent, a cup of bleach and ½ cup borax.

The process is easy – you don’t need maids’ skills to do it. Remove the pillow case and any pillow protector. Fill the washing machine about 1/3 full with hot water and add all the ingredients. Then start the machine and allow it to agitate for a few minutes to make sure all the detergent dissolves. After that add the pillows. Allow the washer to fill the rest of the way with HOT water. Agitate the pillows for a few minutes then turn the pillows over. Wait for a couple of more minutes. Then put your machine on the second rinse cycle or just run it through manually. It is all done!

Drying: For down and feathers, use the air cycle. For synthetics, use the low heat setting.
